Lyrics
Back In ‘57
Chorus:
60 years you both have shared a love through thick and thin,
With integrity, honesty, and mutual respect.
Verse 1
Back in ‘57 down in Luziana in the car at The Sip-N-Nip with some other guy,
When she saw your clear blue eyes, somebody winked, she said it was you,
Never the less it led to somethin new.
You didn’t know where she lived, you found out where she worked,
It didn’t take long you drove to Mississippi and there you did elope.
Chorus:
60 years you both have shared a love through thick and thin,
With integrity, honesty, and mutual respect.
Verse 2
Four kids you did raise, you held tight on the reins,
discipline was quick, sometimes with a stick, there was no litigation.
Your life is simple not too much strife, you set a good example and you never fight,
To God and each other you are always faithful.
Chorus:
60 years you both have shared a love through thick and thin,
With integrity, honesty, and mutual respect.
Verse 3
House paintin’ paper hangin’ sheet rock and mud slingin’ tractor needs a fixin’,
Cow pokin’ catfish skinin’, you always make it happen.
You do a lot of cookin’ and a cleanin’ and a sewin’, the yard it needs a mowin’,
Piano lesson, club meetin’ ball gamin’ sheep raisin’, kids they always goin’
Chorus:
60 years you both have shared a love through thick and thin,
With integrity, honesty and mutual respect.
Now as your son I wanna say I’m grateful for all this, for intergrity, honesty, and mutual repsect.
Back in ‘57 down in Luziana in the car at The Sip-N-Nip with some other guy,
When she saw your clear blue eyes, somebody winked she said it was you,
